How to Join the Lab
Queen’s University undergraduate students interested in developing their academic writing skills and gaining experience in a research environment should connect with us. For SKHS Students, the research practicum and independent study courses are of particular value for individuals who want to provide additional evidence of their academic abilities in their applications to post-degree or graduate programs. They are also of particular value for individuals who wish to conduct an intensive study on a specific topic or research question.
NEW: Research Mini-Stream – This immersive research opportunity provides students with a certificate from the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at the completion of the 15.0 required units. For more information visit: https://skhs.queensu.ca/research-mini-stream/

Consider HLTH 352: Research Skills Development Practicum, this course is designed to provide a research-based experience (approximately 80 hours) for students in Health Studies interested in working on ongoing research projects in our lab.

The deadline to apply is at the end of March each year.
Consider HLTH 456/3.0: Survey of Research and Literature in Health Studies, this course is designed for students who wish to gain experience researching a topic in depth by reviewing the current literature and research on that topic.
Consider HLTH 595/6.0: Honours Thesis in Health Studies, this course involves the completion of a detailed research proposal (with literature review), ethics protocol (if required), and the implementation of an independent research study.
