About the Global Health Equity (GHE) Collab
Welcome to the Global Health Equity (GHE) Collab, an interdisciplinary health research lab housed within the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies at Queen’s University. Our team is made up of faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students passionately working towards achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals through collaborative, equitable research in partnership with community organizations in Canada and beyond.
Researchers in our lab pursue diverse interdisciplinary research interests (see more about our current research topics here). Lab members use quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods in our work, and draw on theories and methodologies from the fields of geography, environmental science, health promotion, anthropology, and sociology. Our work is united by our use of community-based participatory methods and our pursuit of equity as a core principle of our practice.
As an integral member of the School of Kinesiology and Health Studies, we are driven by its mission, which is to promote well-being from cell to society, through teaching, research, and active engagement in our communities. We pursue our aims while fostering a safe, caring, and respectful school environment.
Our vision is that the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals be achieved via collaborative community-based research that bridges disciplinary boundaries and upholds equity as a core principle.
